What was the response of the 120 waiting? This promised Gift was poured out and exuberant joy and praise filled them and they filled the streets. In Acts 2:39 Peter made it abundantly clear that this Gift of Holy Spirit is for ALL who believe.
Shortly after Dean and I received the Holy Spirit we went to Houston to see and hear the gentleman who led us to receive this gift when listening to his cassette tape – Derek Prince. It was a Saturday morning. The service started with praise (exuberant joy); then, as we continued to sing, we went into worship, “a holy hush.” Then a crescendo of singing in tongues filled the atmosphere. It felt and sounded like we were caught up in Heaven. This experience drew me into a deeper place of waiting and worshiping.
Over two thousand years ago this incredible Gift changed the world, and, for centuries believers have been gathering in worship, in prayer, in seeking and waiting. Isn’t it amazing that this Gift is just as wonderful and powerful today as it was then!

Psalms 42:1 I long to drink of you O God, drinking deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you.
Psalms 63: You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, … I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
Acts 16: 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
