Hello church,
It is already March can you believe it?!!! NSU is back in full swing with the River Campus Ministry, the Epicenter Youth sold cup cakes and the church is making plans for an awesome year. If you have been in service, or listening on line, you already know that I believe we are in a new season for God’s church universal. God is doing a new thing in the earth, and in His church, and I want our church to be moving with Him! For us to know His heart for our church, we started our year off with a “10 Days of Waiting.” Some people also incorporated their normal fasting practices with this time of being intentional to spend time praying and being before the Lord. As a result we have had multiple people testify that God was doing a new work in them.
Jeremiah 2914 “I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.”
That’s what I desire for our church, because we are seeking Him… He will come in and free us from any captivity that may be holding us hostage in our heart. Sometimes God will allow some distance and things to carry us away… so we can realize what we are missing. May the Lord draw us to Him in this New Year so that we can experience His presence and power in this new season and walk in the power that is ours as His people!
Blessings,
Ps. Ellis Newman
Ten Days of Waiting
Each New Year our church normally calls for a 21-Day Fast, but this year we made a shift to Ten Days of Waiting , referring to the time from the
Ascension of Christ to Pentecost [when the Promise of the Gift of the Father (Luke 24:49) was poured out and being received by the believers
waiting in the Upper Room (see Acts 1:8; 2:1-4)].
Many texts in God’s Word instruct us to “wait on God.” The Greek word for “wait” in Acts 1:4 simply means “stay around, remain, to tarry. So, for
our Ten Days, we posted a Devotional each day on the church’s blog with testimonies of each person’s experience in waiting on God; and the blessings that ensued as a result of trusting God in our sometimes challenging circumstances. At the end of each Devotional is a place to click for music to worship to in our quiet time.
While we had our private morning devotionals, we also had three evenings of “Linger” services at church where we worshiped, prayed and experienced God’s presence as we waited on Him. These times of coming together as His body is vital to our relationship to Him and one another. We have learned that waiting on God brings blessings and power to our lives.
Are you hungry for more? More time just to spend with Him, to be still and experience His presence? Brian Simmons says, “Calling on the Lord is one way that He draws us into His heart. Life-changing power is released when we spend time with Him. And He knows that adoration turns into transformation if we will be patient.”

River Campus Ministry & Epicenter Youth
The RCM has been busy with Bible studies, game nights, holiday parties, karaoke nights and other activities. This semester we have been going through the Old Testament so we can have a better understanding of who God is.
In the beginning of February, we took the youth to Tyler, Texas. We went to a basketball game and then went to Trinity Fellowship Church for a youth encounter night. Holy Spirit showed up in a very tangible way and encountered every single person that attended.
Missions
The Belize mission trip took place in December 14th-20th, 2024, alongside Trial Farm Full Gospel Church. Our team served in children ministry, Sunday and youth services, mercy ministry (visit underprivileged families with food & hygiene packages), and prayer walks. We continually saw the tangible presence of God, specifically when we would pray over people. Adults and kids would begin to weep or feel electricity going through their bodies. Holy Spirit never failed to speak to anyone we prayed for. Below is our short testimony video from the trip. To see our mission trip journal, click HERE.
