TEN DAYS OF WAITING DAY 3

MARY – THE VOICE

Judy Fisher

I was saved for about two years when the Lord brought someone into my life who glowed with the Spirit. She gave me teaching cassettes on Holy
Spirit and one of the teachings ended in prayer to receive Holy Spirit. And just like that, I was filled; and His Word was (and is) transforming me! Then
scriptures began to jump off the page. I read John 10 and was shocked when I read I could hear the voice of Jesus. Though I may not always discern His voice, I continue to desire it. And I’ve learned that reading God’s Word is the best way to know His Voice.

Because Mary waited for the Promise of the Father, she received Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. She was now filled with the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. For her remaining days she walked in the POWER of Holy Spirit! She could do all the things Jesus did while He was here on earth – healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, setting people free! I think she may have been a dynamo for Jesus! But, of utmost value, she was able to talk to her Son. She could hear her Son’s voice!

Do you think Mary remembered the psalmist’s words, “be still (wait) and know that I am God (Ps 46:10)”? I think so. And can we remember Jesus’ mother’s words, “Do whatever He tells you. (John 2:5)”

John 10: 2-4 The sheep know their Shepherd’s voice. He calls each of them by name and leads them out. When he has led out all of his sheep, he walks in front of them, and they follow, because they know his voice.

Psalm 95:6-8 Bow down and worship the Lord our Creator! The Lord is our God, and we are his people, the sheep he takes care of in his own pasture. Listen to God’s voice today!
