MARY – EXPECTANT

My great-grandmother – Judy – laid hands on my mother’s tummy who was expecting, and prayed for me, not yet born. Though she didn’t live long
enough to see or hold me, I believe her prayer marked me for God. And my mom named me Judy, which means “Praise.”
Mary – the mother of Jesus – waited. How did she wait? Expectantly! She already had an encounter with Holy Spirit when Jesus was conceived
(Luke 1: 35). She then visits Elizabeth and, immediately, Elizabeth and her prenatal baby (John the Baptist) are filled with Holy Spirit (Luke 1:15, 41).
I know many of us have had the joy and privilege to pray blessings or divine intervention over a mommy’s baby, still in the womb. Many of you may
remember when our church went through a season fervently praying for babies still in the womb diagnosed with unhealthy results. As we engaged
in worship and prayer, we felt God’s presence and experienced His power for these precious little ones. And God MIRACULOUSLY answered our
prayers! That is the Church flowing in the Kingdom Power of Holy Spirit!
Are we, the Church, spiritually pregnant, waiting expectantly for Christ to be born in us by the Holy Spirit? Do we understand the revealed, glorious
riches of the mystery of God – Christ living in us (Colossians 1:25-29)?
