WAITING BRINGS PEACE

Have you ever made a bonifide mistake? At least in that moment when things were not going as expected? Have you been in a situation were you
had to pray and wait on the Lord?”

We were motivated by friends – and the Lord – to move to a ranch for abused and neglected children where we would serve as “grandparents.”
We wanted to make a difference in their lives, expressing God’s love in any way we could. But it didn’t take long for us to think we had made a wrong
decision. Learning how to defend myself was my biggest shock (though I never had to). And then, there was an encounter that caused us to seriously
consider packing our bags for our safety and wellbeing. But instead of a knee-jerk reaction, we sought the Lord. And we waited. Surprisingly, God’s
peace came over us, and we knew we did not make a mistake. And for the next eleven years we had the privilege of being “grandparents” to children
too numerous to count, all because of God’s heart for these children, and our dependence on the Holy Spirit abiding in us.

Psalm 33: 20 Our inner selves wait [earnestly] for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield. 22 Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.
