The Foundation Reunion – They Do Grow Up!

For those of you who didn’t know, I had the pleasure of seeing some of our former students return to Natchitoches last July—some of whom I hadn’t seen in twenty years—while visiting NSU. These were students from the Foundation Campus Ministry here at NSU, where I served as campus minister from 2000 to 2006.
Many of them fell in love with Jesus during that time… and some even fell in love with one another! It was wonderful to see these young men and women with their spouses (some of whom I met for the first time) and their children. The time we spent catching up and reliving old experiences was truly priceless.
It’s an experience and a gift I will cherish for the rest of my life. Yes, they do grow up—into mature adults who have far exceeded any expectations I once had. Some have started businesses, others are teaching, some work regular nine-to-five jobs—but all continue to serve in ministry in one way or another.
I share this with you, church family, because as we pour into the young people God has sent us today—with purpose and intentionality—they will carry on the work of God’s Kingdom as they grow. These men and women are now impacting their families, communities, churches, and ministries literally all over the globe!
What a privilege it has been for me to play even a small part in their faith journey and to see them influencing the world for Christ. So church, when you are cooking meals, serving these students late at night, or counseling them through life’s challenges, remember—you are helping prepare the next generation of leaders.
God bless you for all you’ve done and continue to do! Praise God for growing them up!
Wonderful Worship Intensive!
September 4–6 | Houston, TX
Melinda and I had the opportunity to attend the Revive Network Worship Intensive at Kingdom City Church in Houston. The event featured several worship leaders—David Willis, Danielle Burns, Sam McCabe, and Matt Coss—a few of whom are well-known artists today.
The sessions focused on pressing in to hear from the Lord, operating in the prophetic, and writing songs that maintain integrity to the Gospel message while leading others into genuine worship. Many leaders shared concerns that some modern Christian music has become too “feel-good” or audience-focused, losing sight of Christ-centered lyrics.
As we worship with the music available to us, let’s ensure that Jesus remains the focus—and that the songs we sing carry the power to transform lives. Worship should always lift up God and draw us into His presence.
We expect this Worship Intensive to be offered again next year. If you’d like to attend, please let Pastor Ellis or Melinda know—you won’t regret it!
Prophetic night at Trinity Church in Tyler Texas
September 14 | Trinity Church
On September 14th, a group of our college students and adults traveled to Tyler, Texas for a Prophetic Worship Night at Trinity Church. The service was powerful, and many people received encouraging words from those ministering in the prophetic. The worship was anointed, and the words shared brought strength, hope, and renewal.
If you ever have the opportunity to receive a prophetic word—take it! It can be strength for your bones and hope for your heart. If you’d like to join next time, speak with Nicole or Pastors Ellis or Melinda.

We’re preparing for our next trip to Querétaro, where only about 2% of the population are evangelical believers. Space is limited to 10 participants, so please let Eva know soon if you’d like to be part of the team (date has not been decided; different than RCM trip).
